Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity International selected 15 law students from 75 applicants for its 2026 Growing Our Leadership Diversity Scholars Program. The Indianapolis program combined leadership instruction, one-to-one mentoring, career preparation, financial guidance, and contact with practicing attorneys for students from underrepresented backgrounds.

The Professional Fraternity Association selected G.O.L.D. as its 2026 Outstanding Professional Program. The recognition places a professional fraternity program inside the larger Greek-letter impact record, where career access and community service both matter.

What did the G.O.L.D. Scholars Program provide?

G.O.L.D. stands for Growing Our Leadership Diversity. The 2026 cohort represented 12 Phi Alpha Delta chapters, and the small cohort allowed each scholar to receive individual attention.

The experience addressed different parts of a law student’s path. A student may need help explaining experience on a resume, speaking with a recruiter, understanding education debt, or finding an attorney who can offer informed guidance.

  • Leadership assessments and workshops
  • Sessions on professional identity and self-advocacy
  • Negotiation instruction
  • Individual resume and digital-presence reviews
  • Career panels and one-to-one mentoring
  • A consultation about law-school loans
  • Opportunities to help shape national convention programming

Why did Indianapolis matter?

Phi Alpha Delta held the experience in Indianapolis with the Indianapolis Bar Association. A reception connected scholars with attorneys practicing in the city.

The program also included mentoring, professional headshots, resume support, networking, and practical sessions designed for law students from underrepresented groups. The local partnership created a way for students from different schools and chapters to meet attorneys outside their usual networks.

How did service fit into a professional program?

The program included a financial contribution to an Indianapolis neighborhood legal clinic that provides free legal services to residents who may not otherwise have access to representation.

That contribution connects professional development with public responsibility. The scholars were preparing for legal careers while the program also directed support toward people currently seeking legal help.

The available public reports do not state the contribution amount or identify the clinic. The documented point is that the program incorporated community legal access into its closing activity.

Why does this belong in the Greek-letter impact record?

Public discussion of fraternities and sororities often centers on collegiate social organizations. Phi Alpha Delta is a professional legal fraternity, and its impact takes a different form.

Professional Greek-letter organizations may connect members through a field of study or profession. Their work can include mentoring, ethics, career education, public service, scholarships, professional conferences, and relationships that continue after graduation.

Fraternity impact is not measured only by volunteer hours or fundraising totals. Access to mentors, practical preparation, and informed professional relationships can affect who enters a field and who feels supported once there.

What should future reporting follow?

The 2026 award confirms that the program was recognized for its design and delivery. Longer-term reporting could examine whether scholars remain involved with mentors, obtain internships or leadership roles, contribute to later cohorts, or bring the program’s lessons back to their chapters.

Those results would help readers understand what continued after the Indianapolis weekend and give other professional organizations a clearer model for pairing member development with service.
